What Customers Are Saying

June 2017

“A welcome stopover on the long journey from Durban to the Kgalagadi. Very comfortable quiet self-catering room with large well-appointed bathroom and patio, dinner if pre-booked (a wonderful venison shepherds pie) likewise breakfast, all combined to get our holiday off to a great start”

May 2018

“We stopped at Holkrans Lodge as part of a road trip. It was meant to be a quick stop-over and we were looking for a place that was good value for money and where we could enjoy the surrounding area. We got so much more than this and were really impressed with every aspect of our stay”

About us

Holkrans became the family farm in 1946. As the property is conveniently situated, it soon became a stopover for skin traders and travelers. Ouma Martha’s home and table was always ready to accommodate those passing by and with help for those in need. We, the current owners, began farming in 1981 establishing an Endurance horse, and Arabian stud.

The Guestfarm vision became a reality in 2009. The idea was to provide special treatment for just a handful of guests, with the wildlife and scenery enhancing the experience. This is achieved in the current offering of two types of exclusive accommodation. As we have numerous buck species roaming nearby, our mission is to conserve the wildlife and make it possible for guests to see and enjoy the animals in their natural Kalahari surroundings.
